Message From the Sky
God's Glory April 16th, 2009
God’s glory is apparent all around us. He has infused it into His creation. Some of the most obvious examples are found in the sky. The sun rising and setting is one of the most beautiful sights one could behold. The sun gives off a glow that slowly diminishes under the horizon. There are different shades of purple, orange, blue and red which all blend together as if done by a masterful painter. And the most amazing part is this: if the clouds allow a clear view, it never gets old. There is a new sunset every day, a new masterpiece.
We also find God’s glory in the night. You might catch the moon shining brightly. Also, when you look up, you see the stars. The stars sparkle in the night. You can look up and see them, bright specks against the great darkness. It is truly a beautiful sight to behold. There is a reason why late night walks are so romantic. On top of that, there is recognition when we look up to the stars. Many times it overwhelms us, and causes some to feel insignificant. When people look out at the stars they realize that there is more than just us. There is something out there.
These things tell us about God. In the sunrise and the sunset we see a God who is extremely glorious. If he created something so beautiful, so amazing, then how much more beautiful will He Himself be. In the night we also see His glory, but more importantly we see His power and His vastness. If He could create such a large expanse, then He must truly be all powerful. It is important for us not to take these messages for granted. We often times go about our lives and completely ignore the nature around us. We should not, because it is a constant reminder about the great and powerful God we serve.
