Psalm 139:4

Even before there is a word on my tongue, Behold, O LORD, You know it all.

In the world today, there are many people who not only try to break the rules, but also do everything they can to get away with. Some people are rebellious and want everyone to know about it. They break the rules so that people can see and know that is exactly what they are doing. Others however will be disobedient because they think it is to their advantage. As long as no one catches them, they wind up coming out ahead.

What is interesting is the depths that they will go to keep their misdeeds hidden. They will lie and manipulate. They will destroy any evidence that would incriminate them. Sometimes they spend so much time and effort covering up what they have done, they would have been better off if they had never done anything to start with. The worst will not even admit whenever they have been caught red-handed. They will deny everything from start to finish.

While these techniques may work when dealing with other people, they fall dramatically short of being able to fool God. In fact, David tells us here that God knows what we might speak before we would even speak it. When we realize the knowledge God has of our thoughts, our hearts, and our actions we will understand that absolutely nothing we do will be hidden from Him. God knows everything, and on the day of judgment, God will make everyone own up to what all they have done.

Even before there is a word on my tongue, Behold, O LORD, You know it all.
